Welcome Message from the President of NIREAS Triathlon Club Mr. Marios NIcolaou:

Dear TRI friends,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new beginning of NIREAS tri club.

We have a vision of becoming the reference point of triathlon in Cyprus, and as a president of the club I am eager and excited to contribute to achieving this.

I have the pleasure of being a member of an enthusiastic team, being the council of the club , we all aspire to create
a community of triathletes in Cyprus and offer quality support to all our members. We hope to achieve this primarily through races, introducing triathlon to young children and providing our members with key information concerning triathlon and related areas.

As we mention in our mission :'the club wants to help people become forever changed, physically and socially'.

My team and I welcome the opportunity to provide you with further information about our club.

Vision:
Nireas to become the point of reference for Triathlon in Cyprus.

Mission:
Provision of quality services to all members with the aim of creating a community of Triathletes. The club wants to help people become forever changed, physically and socially.

Objectives:
1. To promote triathlon through the kids academy and other similar programs.
2. To provide educational programs.
3. To provide training for club members through professionally coached programs
4. To promote group swims, rides and runs for the members.
5. To provide social events for members and other triathletes.
6. To provide communication among triathletes via e-mail and our web-side.
7. To provide members with sponsor discounts on clothing and equipment.

History:
Gaia, symbolized for the Greeks, an endless power of fertility. She was the world MOTHER and mother of gods.
After some time, Gaia felt something moving in her belly again but this time she had the feeling that it was something nice. So in a while PONTOS (sea) jumped from her body and surrounded her with his blue body. He enclosed her in his big arms. Gaia was proud of her new son that other times he was peaceful and other times powerful and lathered with his huge waves.
It is also said, that after Ouranos was defeated by CRONOS, Gaia had relations with her second son also. From this relation came all the gods and goddesses that represent the water like the rivers the lakes and everything liquid.
Children of Pontos and Gaia, were NIREAS of the water, Nireas mate with DORIDA, a daughter of OCEANOS (ocean) and with her he had 50 daughters, the NIRIIDES (sea-fairies) that protected the sailors and were living in the sea caves.
